Creative Works of Lancaster presents LEWISTON at The Hive – Lancaster, 800 New Holland Ave, Lancaster, PA. Shows Friday & Saturday, Sep 18 & 19 at 7PM and Saturday & Sunday, Sep 19 & 20 at 2PM.
The play is directed by Jimmy Damore, with assistant director and costume designer Pierce Ream, properties artisan Nora Francis Williams, featuring performances by Olivia Damore, Chris Fogel, Kathy Galtere, and Jenna Shallop. LEWISTON is the first piece in a two part series set in the small twin towns of Lewiston, ID and Clarkston, WA, named for the infamous explorers who blazed the American trail to the west coast. Audiences will be immersed in a journey of discovery and legacy, and can return in January 2027 for part 2.

About the Play: Alice and Connor sit by their roadside stand selling cheap fireworks while developers swallow the land around them. Promised a new condo, their future is secure. Enter Marnie, Alice’s long-lost granddaughter, proposing to buy the land to save her family’s legacy. Marnie and Alice become reacquainted with each other’s deeply held secrets, uncertain pasts and hopeful futures.

Samuel D. Hunter is an award-winning playwright, screenwriter and producer whose deeply human stories explore faith, family and the American experience. He is a MacArthur Fellow and Whiting Award recipient, and his plays have been produced around the world. A native of Moscow, Idaho, he holds degrees in playwriting from NYU, the Iowa Playwrights Workshop and Juilliard. Creative Works presented a staged reading of his play, THE WHALE, in 2017 at EPAC.
Performances of LEWISTON will be Friday, September 18th, at 7:00 PM, Saturday, September 19th, at 2:00 PM and 7:00 PM, and Sunday, September 20th, at 2:00 PM.
