The 24 Hour Plays: Lancaster Returns on May 20

Creative Works of Lancaster is continuing its tradition of bringing local theater artists together to collaborate and create. This year we will be returning to the Green Room Theatre on the campus of Franklin & Marshall College, where The 24 Hour Plays: Lancaster are set to be staged on Saturday, May 20th at 7PM.

This is the twelfth year The 24 Hour Plays have been produced in Lancaster! Six writers, six directors, twenty-five actors and a production team will write, rehearse and perform six ten-minute plays in a 24 hour period. There will only be one performance of the plays.

The six plays will have undergone a process that starts Friday evening, May 19. In this 24 hour period, six writers will choose their actors from a pool of talent, then write through the night and hand their work to the directors early Saturday morning, May 20. After negotiating for their choice of play, directors will rehearse with their actors and a crew of stage technicians to prepare for a 7PM curtain and debut performances of these six original works.
