Creative Works of Lancaster and Zoetropolis Cinema Stillhouse partner for Take Some Joy, Leave Some Joy! a community created art project.
Golly, 2021 is almost over and it seems like now more than ever we could all use a little extra joy in our lives. In that spirit, the magical artistic elves at Creative Works wanted to hand some out. But times are tricky, you want us to hand out all the joy? Like, ALL of it? Well maybe when we were younger we could have. But we’ll need some help.
Just like the “take a penny, leave a penny” of old we’ll give what we can, if you do too.
From Sunday, December 19th through the end of the year, the courtyard of Zoetropolis, 112 N Water St, Lancaster, PA 17603, will host the Creative Works’ Tree Of Joy.
The tree will be adorned with Creative Works’ joy…which, interestingly enough, looks just like hand made ornaments of our friend, E.E. If you want one, take one! Love it, cherish it, give it away if you’d like! Joy is supposed to be infectious, right?
You can leave some joy too. Have an extra air freshener hanging around? Want to hand make an ornament? Love those classic red and green balls? Leave it!
Once Creative Works plants the tree, the people of Lancaster get to decide how it grows.
Creative Works of Lancaster receives state arts funding support through a grant from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, a state agency funded by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency.
