We’re Heading to the Lancaster Cemetery for The 24 Hour Plays: Lancaster!

Creative Works of Lancaster announces a special night of outdoor theater. The 24 Hour Plays: Lancaster is set for May 14, 2022 at 6pm at The Lancaster Cemetery, 205 E Lemon St., Lancaster 17602

RAIN DATE: Saturday, May 21 at 6pm.

Tickets for this event are Pay What You Decide. You will reserve your tickets ahead of time and pay after the performance. PWYD allows all patrons to assess what the value of a performance is for them individually and removes the risk of spending money up front on a new performance they might not traditionally attend with a traditional ticket pricing structure.  You wil be checked in at the performance.

PLEASE NOTE: 24 Hour Plays will be perfomed OUTSIDE and in SIX DIFFERENT LOCATIONS in the Cemetery. Audience members will TRAVEL BETWEEN EACH 10 MINUTE PLAY and are expected to STAND during each play. We will have SOME CHAIRS AVAILABLE for audience members who need them. If you have CONCERNS ABOUT YOUR MOBILITY please CONTACT US AT info@creativelancaster.org and we will get in touch to see if we are able to provide accomodations. You are also welcome to bring your own portable seating.

The 24 Hour Plays: Six writers, six directors, twenty-four actors, and one production team will write, rehearse, and perform six short plays in a 24 hour period. The process begins Friday evening,May 13, with writers choosing actors from a pool of talent. The six writers work through the night and hand their work to directors early Saturday morning, May 14, the day of the performance. After negotiating for their choice of play, directors, along with their play’s actors and a crew of stage technicians, prepare for the 6 pm performance.

This is the eleventh year for the The 24 Hour Plays: Lancaster, a project that has inspired 66 new works and has brought hundreds of local and regional theater artists together.

Creative Works of Lancaster receives state arts funding support through a grant from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, a state agency funded by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency.
