October also saw the Creative Works-sponsored New Play Festival by members of the Lancaster Dramatists Platform (whose bimonthly play readings Creative Works also sponsors) at the Fulton Theater Clubhouse…

We collaborated with Wood Stove House in November at The Candy Factory to bring Lancaster its first production of the nationally known 24 Hour Plays…

And finally in December we produced the first full production of the work of playwright Harry Kondoleon with the uproarious yet touching Christmas on Mars in The Ware Center…

That’s 8 different events at 8 different venues in downtown Lancaster. All were highly acclaimed, and all except two were free (and those two were a minimal $10).

A major thanks to those who have donated their time, ideas, energy and money to help make our first year be a great one.

Together we can bring the Lancaster area more new theatre, art, comedy, music…

in short, the Works!

Thursday through Sunday nights, Dec. 15th – 18th
The Ware Center, 42 N. Prince St., Lancaster
All Shows Start at 7:30 PM

This jet-black comedy is about Bruno and Audrey, a young unmarried couple expecting a baby around Christmas. Audrey’s mother, Ingrid, is moving in with them to help pay the rent, and things get even more complicated when Nissim, Bruno’s longtime roommate, appears on the scene and decides to stay as well. Critics have described the late playwright’s work as “carefully crafted off-kilter dialogue mixed with lyricism that produces a poignant melancholy buffeted by head-shaking comedy,” and Creative Works is happy to introduce his work to Lancaster.

This show is intended for adult audiences.

Ticket prices are $10 each, with an “Awkward Threesome Special” of three tickets for $25.
The six writers will write through the night and hand their work to the directors early Saturday morning, November 5, the day of the performance. After negotiating for their choice of play, directors will work with their actors and a crew of stage technicians to prepare for the 7 p.m. performance.

The Lancaster production is a collaborative effort between Steve Carlson, Jason and Susanne Mundok of the Wood Stove House, and Creative Works. It will feature members of the Lancaster professional theater scene working along-side amateur artists, and several high school actors will also be involved.

Seating is limited and the production team is anticipating a sold out event.
